This weekend

Yesterday, we picked up a truck load of mulch and took it to George and Betty's.  Prior to us leaving the house, Ron went to Russell's to buy food for the chickens and goats.  On his way back he was to buy the mulch so that we did not have to stop on our way to George and Betty's.

As I was to put on my seatbelt, I looked at the back of the truck and saw compost instead of mulch.  I could not keep a straight face while I talked to Ron, trying to figure out what happened.  So, instead of leaving right away, we had to unload the compost.  I had to get up at the back of the truck with a shovel!  I am not sure how long it took us to empty the truck, but I can tell you that I was exhausted.  It was almost noon, and the temp. was in the high 80's.

After we unload the mulch in their backyard, Ron and George went back to get two more loads of mulch for the front yard.  Betty and I stayed and just talked.  When they got back, we got out and helped them unload the truck.  We stayed out after that until the mosquitoes started to attack us.  With all the rain that we had the week before, the mosquitoes had a good breading ground, so we should be using repellant if we are outside for a long period of time.

They suggested for us to go out and eat at Osaka Restaurant, but I suggested for us to just order Pizza- I did not want to go out.  We were sweaty and if we go home and change, it will be about two hours before we get to the restaurant and besides being tired, I was starving- I could not wait for 2 hours not even 1 hour before eating.  I asked Betty for some snacks when we got inside.

Betty ordered the Pizza and Ron picked it up- it was just 2 miles away from Betty's house.  Just like any other time that we'd been to their house, we did not leave until 7:30PM, 5 hours after we got there.  While Ron and George talked and watch TV, Betty and I were in her sewing room using the computer, checking for items at the shopping channel.

Today, we stayed home.  I did not go to bed until 1AM.  I ordered the camera that has been in my wish list for a while and few other things.  We did not get up until about 9 this morning.  I put the papers that I don't have any use for any more in the burning barrel and started the fire.  I also burned the pile of wood and branches/twigs that fell on the ground.  I purposely ignored the plants while I was outside as I had to organize my room- my craft room.  Last week, Ron and I went to the newly opened Lowe's and bought 2 cabinets- 48" X 20" X 72", one went to our bedroom and the other one is here in craft room.  It took us almost 2 hours to assemble the first cabinet, but the 2nd one; it only took us 45 minutes.  I am looking forward to having things organized.  In the room, there's a daybed, which I can't wait to see the top, right now, it's the receptacle of everything from curtains, bags, bins, boxes, papers, books, etc; a regular desk/organizer, a computer desk, a narrow long table and the cabinet, and boxes and bins- LOL.  There are 3 extra computer hard drives – I don't want to get rid of them until I can copy or take out what's in them.  I know that the last one before this new computer has many pictures in them and I sure would like to get them copied first.

I went through the boxes under the daybed and got rid of more papers.  I took them outside and burned them.  I just didn't get rid of papers; I read letters, emails, looked at pictures.  Some brought comfort and some brought sadness inside me.  I found pictures of my grandmas from both sides- pictures that I did not think I had, I found a letter from Carl when he was still in the Philippines, I found hospital records/bills when I had Kat, I found Kat's arm band when she was born, I also found her foot prints and I found a bunch of pictures- they were just in the box, not in the album.  I found my early journals and notes and scribbles.  There is so much in this room and I mentioned to Ron that I would not want anyone in this room unless we are home.  Starting tomorrow, I am going to keep the room locked when we go to work.

It is now almost 7PM.  I had a late lunch so I probably won't need anymore food tonight.   Last night I put beef in the crock pot for the beef stew that we had today.   Ron can have leftover, or he can prepare something else for himself.

I will do a little more work here tonight.
